Snr. Technical Manager – Central Europe

Job Description:

  • To manage all aspects of a technical nature within a specified region
  • To manage all local technical staff (SE, TAM, Team Leads etc), and to interface between the region and centralised technical functions (RTL, Core, Training, Cork support etc)
  • Budgetary responsibility for the team, including operational effectiveness and increasing resource value
  • Line management of Technical Team ensuring the effective allocation of resources to meet pre and post sales support requirements both internally and externally
  • Involvement in EMEA and Global support related projects
  • To manage Pre and Post sales support for the region
  • To work closely with the local sales organisation to provide any support required during the selling process
  • To play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction and that effective solutions are delivered within short time frames
  • Development and maintenance of strategic channel relationships, individually and through key personnel
  • Maintenance and development of strong relationships with our Enterprise customers
  • Developing and maintaining effective communication between other BU and Corp technical teams
  • Managing technical knowledge within the channel
  • Effective management of the PSP process, ensuring that legal commitments are adhered to
  • Identification and delivery of relevant and timely product training where applicable both internally and externally
  • Dealing with technical escalations from the field, directly or through delegation

Requirements:

  • Flexibility to travel regularly, availability out of business hours for emergency situations
  • Work from the office or home based on business requirements
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Understanding of customer satisfaction strategies
  • Capable of motivating the team
  • Capable of making decisions and to ensure the implementation of strategy and plans
  • Flexible attitude with strong and proven commercial / business awareness
  • Ability to balance technical understanding with commercial skills and awareness
  • Strong decision making and time management skills
  • Willingness to delegate tasks as appropriate
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) essential

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a TECHNICAL management, supervisor or team lead role
  • Experience of working in a technical environment, and with technical people
  • Experience of commercial processes
  • Channel focused
